Ozone Therapy

Ozone Therapy uses ozone as a therapeutic agent to detoxify, oxygenate and revitalise the body. It is a technique with few contraindications and minimal side effects when correctly applied.

What it is

How ozone acts in the body

Ozone Therapy uses ozone (O₃), which is easily assimilated by the body: the additional oxygen molecule dissociates into molecular oxygen (O₂) and highly reactive atomic oxygen, triggering effective oxygenation and oxidation processes across a wide range of conditions.

Blood begins to circulate better through the narrowest capillaries, improving microcirculation and cellular oxygenation. It is a process that restores oxygen metabolism, with revitalising, immunostimulant, detoxifying and anti-infective effects.

These characteristics make Ozone Therapy a versatile treatment, one of the most powerful antioxidants available today, due to the stimulation it exerts on the production of endogenous antioxidant enzymes.
A recognised and regulated medical therapy.
One of the most powerful antioxidants in medicine today.

In Portugal, the first Medical Ozone Therapy course took place in 2004. It is now regulated as a medical therapy in the Nomenclature of the Portuguese Medical Association, in accordance with Decree-Law no. 163/2013.

Application process

How Ozone Therapy is applied

01

Autohemotherapy

Blood is drawn and ozone is added; this mixture is then reintroduced into the body through the same catheter, intravenously.

02

Subcutaneous or intra-articular injection

Injection of microdoses of ozone into painful points or acupuncture points, directly into the areas to be treated.

03

Hydrocolon therapy with ozone

Introduction of filtered and heated water into the intestine to remove toxins and accumulated faecal matter, with final ozone insufflation and introduction of probiotics.

04

Rectal insufflation

Introduction of ozone rectally, one of the most widely used forms of systemic application.

05

Vaginal insufflation

Introduction of ozone vaginally, indicated according to the patient's clinical picture.

06

Urethral insufflation

Introduction of ozone urethrally, one of the complementary techniques of the treatment.
